5th Annual Marcus Cup Game-2022
The Marcus Cup is named after Marcus Avenue, which is the main thoroughfare between Herricks and the New Hyde Park Schools.
This game is designated for the regular season match-up between the Herricks High School and New Hyde Park Memorial High School Varsity Boys Lacrosse Teams. The two teams play for local "bragging rights" and the coveted 'Marcus Cup' -a Perpetual Trophy the winning school displays until the following year's Showdown.
In recognition of the NHP-PAL Boy's Lacrosse Alumni who are sent on to play for both NHP and Herricks High Schools, The 'CROSS-TOWN SHOWDOWN' was created.
This year, the Herricks Highlanders prevailed by a score of 15-5. Senior Aaron Cho led the Highlanders in scoring, totaling six goals. Thomas Gaudio added an additional four. Kailen McCauley (2 goals), Joe Mattei, and brothers Jesse and Riley Royals each added a goal to the 15 goal Highlander total.
A wonderful, exciting event for the entire New Hyde Park community!!!
